Overview

 

    To assist in the direction, supervision and coordination all phases of facilities maintenance and new construction at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, including carpentry, paint, plumbing and fiberglass.

   

Responsibilities

 

  • Participates in the planning of and manages all aspects of Worlds of Fun's construction projects. In conjunction with the Director of Maintenance and the Cedar Fair Planning & Development team, determines priorities and schedules; develops bid package specifications; negotiates with, selects, and schedules contractors, engineers and architects. Researches, bids and orders materials and/or services required for such projects.
  • Manages the maintenance of park buildings, facilities, and rides with respect to assigned trades. Determines priorities for scheduling; develops project specifications; negotiates with, selects, and schedules contractors as needed. Researches, bids and orders materials as required for such projects.
  • Selects and oversees the scheduling, training and supervision of assigned associates; ensures these associates are knowledgeable of and proficient in proper procedures. Takes disciplinary action when needed. Addresses and attempts to resolve employee problems including union grievances.
  • Maintains records required of the park by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Reviews storm water discharge reports for permit.
    Assists in the preparation of annual department capital, operating expense, and labor budgets. Monitors weekly and takes appropriate action if necessary.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.

Qualifications

  • Analytical skills necessary to organize work load to establish priorities
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with management, union employees and seasonal employees.
  • Mental and emotional capability to make sound decisions quickly during potentially life threatening situations in the event of a park emergency.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of ASTM and ADA accessibility requirements for buildings and facilities.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
