Cedar Point is seeking a Digital Infrastructure Technician in Sandusky, OH. This position is responsible for effectively maintaining telecommunications systems and equipment. Assist staff and management with technical projects. They also maintain records and infrastructure, equipment installation, maintenance, adds, moves and changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete adds, moves and changes to all telecommunications equipment including phones, jacks, wiring and other communications equipment as needed.
  • Develop and implement necessary changes within the various telecommunications programs at the discretion of management. Utilize proper techniques to change and replace cards within various systems.
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs to cable television lines and terminations.
  • Make repairs to various phones and equipment for reuse throughout the facility.
  • Develop engineering skills by taking the lead on implementing adds and/or changes as needed throughout various facilities.
  • Develop cabling infrastructure including repairs and replacements using the 3M Splice kit, splice modules and various work within phone pedestal using cabling maps, diagrams and layouts. Update records involving cabling infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with upper management on programming, wiring techniques and systems involved in telecommunications and cable television service. Serve as backup to Lead Technicians role in order to assist in events assistance.

Qualifications

  • Vocational Degree in IT or equivalent work experience

  •  0-2 years experience in IT or technical Support

  • Certificate CompTIA A+ or Network+ preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License required

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per company policy, unless prohibited by federal state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
